Can you believe 2017 is almost over? I think it’s safe that say that most of us can’t. There’s a good chance many of us set out to accomplish some financial goals this year and, for whatever reason, many not have gotten around to it.
Or, for many people, it’s the holiday season, in particular, that can destroy good financial intentions. When the average American will spend nearly $1,000 this year on holiday gifts alone, you can only imagine what the total adds up to when you factor in travel, food, and other essentials. (1)Even if one were on track with their finances, the holidays can make it difficult to stay on budget.
This is especially when an accountability partner may come in handy. That’s why we’d like to remind you that we’re here—not just for you, but also for your friends and family. If you know someone who may benefit from help pursuing their financial goals or who may need an accountability partner who can help them keep on track, we are happy to provide them a complimentary financial review.
A Financial Review
What will a financial review look like for your friend, colleague or family member? We’ll take the time to get to know them personally. We will listen, evaluate, and create customized, individualized solutions for each client.
We will reevaluate their current investments to make sure their strategies are in line with their objectives. From estate planning to retirement strategizing to saving for children’s education, we will be an unbiased source of guidance and resources to help them succeed.
We can answer any questions they may have about the market, strategies, or basic financial tips and principles. Then, we can apply their concerns, ideas and aims to their current plan to see how everything lines up, making sure that they know where they stand and how to get where they want to be.
The Benefits of a Review
Once we have a good overview of their financial picture, we work together to re-evaluate and readjust. If we think their current investments and financial strategies continue to be well suited to their long-term goals despite the market turmoil, we’ll gladly tell them so and send them on their way.
If, on the other hand, we think their plan no longer fits their goals, we’ll explain why and, if they’d like, share some alternatives we recommend. It may be that minor adjustments are needed based on their age, current economic woes, or a change in priorities and plans.
It never hurts to have a professional take a second look at their financial plan to ensure that it is up-to-date, still applicable to all aspects of their life, and is designed to achieve their long-term dreams. Regardless of the outcome of our second look, I hope they will have full confidence in us, their decisions, and their financial plan.
Do You Know Someone Who Needs This?
Did you know that finance-related resolutions are the third most popular New Year’s resolution, following self-improvement and weight loss? (2) As we celebrate the holidays and prepare to start a new year, millions of people will vow to get out of debt, save more, or accomplish a financial milestone, whether that’s purchasing a vacation home or retiring.
We believe that the best way to accomplish your goals is to partner with a trusted professional who can create a financial plan tailored to your unique needs. The best gift you can give your family and friends this holiday season is an encouragement to take the first step towards a healthy financial future.
